At Hempstead High School -

Seniors who were at risk for failing or expulsion were given the opportunity to attend an alternative school; which helped them focus on their skills and not their failures.

Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School -

Provided guidance to parents who had difficulty with their children and helping close gaps with any language barrier.
Provided advocacy for students who had disciplinary issues and/or criminal charges.

Case Example -

A 16 year old, Junior in High School student was involved in a school altercation. The police department was involved and his grades were failing. Felion Youth Alternatives was contacted as an advocate to help this situation. Jose Lino attended various meetings in school, at their home, and in court. As a result of all those efforts the student ultimately pushed through, and graduated with his graduating class. During this process his mom was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately was not able to see her son graduate but Felion Youth Alternatives was there as his support system.
